Exhaust fans are those devices which help us immensely with ventilation purposes. With the help of the exhaust fans the ventilation process is improved drastically. Since wherever the exhaust fans are used the quality of air is not very good, in fact it is really bad that is why there is a need of improved ventilation hence the need of exhaust fan to be used at that place. Since the normal fans have the problem of dust and moisture depositing on their blades when they are not that much exposed to them as the exhaust fan. The deposition of dirt, vapours of cooking oil, moisture etcmake the exhaust fan really dirty.

In case where the exhaust has been placed in the bathroom it only has to deal with a lot of moisture and dust. It needs to be cleaned at regular intervals because it can create a very big difference in taking out the moisture and odour out of the bathroom. The cleaning requires a little technical knowledge. If you want to clean your exhaust fan, or you’re planning to get an exhaust fan for your bathroom, Atomberg(http://atomberg.com/atomberg-fans/) uses the latest technology to manufacture exhaust fans, it is necessary to be familiar with the technical details. The cleaning of the exhaust fan can be done twice a year and the steps to clean the bathroom exhaust fan are as follows:

  • The very first step would be cut off the power supply to the bathroom. After cutting out the power supply the outer casing of the exhaust fan should be opened carefully either by using a drill machine to help remove the screws or the screwdriver may also be used if the former is not available. If the fan contains a lighting unit then you should unscrew the casing more carefully.
  • Keep the casing aside after dismounting it and then when you get to the fan it is bound to be fixed in place by means of screws or some other attachments. Unscrew these screws and the attachments holding the fan blades in place and slide the blade out of the rotating shaft.
  • Use a wet cloth to do the primary cleaning which just comprises of the wiping the blades with the cloth.
  • The next step is to use a mild cleaner detergent mixed in lukewarm water to clean the casing or the vents by means of wiping it with a cloth dipped in the soap solution and cleaning the soap with a clean cloth.
  • The both sides of the fan blades should be further cleaned with a window or a glass cleaner liquid.
  • Keep the parts cleaned aside and let it to dry for a little while. In the meanwhile, the visible part of the rotating shaft can be cleaned and the lower end of the rotating shaft where the blades are to be attached should be oiled for lubrication.
  • The final step would be to replace all the parts back together with screwing them tightly such that none of the parts are left loose more than they should be ideally. Connect the lightening part as it was earlier (if there was any) and connect the fan to the main supply and test the fan after turning on the power back to the bathroom.
